FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (3/23/19): Daily Fantasy Hockey

We have a 10-game slate tonight with a few lopsided favorites, along with some games with over-under set at six or higher. There should be plenty of scoring to go around tonight and plenty of options for both cash games or GPPs.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/23/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

John Tavares - C, TOR vs NYR (FD - $8,300, DK - $7,600)

Tavares and the Maple Leafs are at home and come in as massive -340 home favorites tonight and with this game having an over-under set at 6.5 goals, we are expecting plenty of scoring from them. They are facing off against the Rangers who come in with a 59 Corsi Against this season, which is the sixth worst in the league, meaning they are giving up a ton of shot attempts per game. This gives Tavares and the Leafs players a great opportunity to hit a floor of points which is what you want to aim for in cash games, while with him on the first power-play unit, gives him nice upside for GPPs.

Alex Tuch - W, VGK vs DET (FD - $4,400, DK - $5,300)

Tuch is on the second forward line and the second power-play unit for the Golden Knights, who have scored five or more goals in three straight games and are in line to repeat that tonight. They are facing off against the Red Wings, who are one of the worst teams in the league, which is why Vegas is -325 at home. The Red Wings are allowing 12.01 High-Danger scoring chances per 60 this season, which is the sixth most in the league. This presents the Golden Knights with plenty of opportunities to rack up goals and thus, plenty of fantasy points.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Mark Giordano - D, CGY @ VAN (FD - $7,100, DK - $6,200)

Giordano is one of the most expensive defenders on the slate and that has me feeling that no one will want to pay up for him, making him a great GPP option. First off, he is on the first power-play unit for the Flames, which gets you exposure to Monahan and Gaudreau. That stack is fantastic and always brings multi-point upside, but is super expensive, as you would imagine. He is currently riding a six-game point streak, along with 14 shots, and one blocked shot in that span.

Shea Weber - D, MON vs BUF (FD - $5,800, DK - $6,000)

Weber and the Canadiens are in a spot where they NEED to be picking up wins since they are fighting for every point right now as they try to lock up a Wild Card spot. He comes in with goals in back to back games while posting four or more shots in four of his last five games. This gives him a great floor and ceiling combination which should be on full display tonight against the Sabres who are in the middle of the league in both Corsi Against and the number of high-danger scoring chances allowed per 60.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Petr Mrazek - G, CAR vs MIN (FD - $8,000, DK - $7,800)

Mrazek should be getting the start tonight and comes in as a -160 home favorite against the Wild, who are on the second night of back to back. This game only has an over-under sitting at 5.5, which is on the lower end tonight, so a nice spot for a goalie. He has won seven of his last eight starts while allowing three or fewer goals in each of those eight starts, making him one of the more consistent options on the slate. Mrazek doesn't always see a ton of saves, which can limit his upside for tournaments tonight.
