Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/9/19. DFS Forwards to Consider
Mika Zibanejad - C, NYR vs NJ (FD - $7,300, DK - $6,500)
Zibanejad will always project highly in DFS since he is taking nearly three shots per game, on the first forward line and on the first power-play unit for the Rangers. They are at home an -150 favorites in a game where the over-under is set at six. He is lacking production lately, but the last time he played the Devils he posted three goals and one assist, which is the level of production we could be seeing from him since the Devils come in allowing nearly 3.5 goals per game over the past month. The Devils come in with a Corsi Against sitting at 58, which means they are giving plenty of shots, which should provide plenty of opportunities for the Rangers offense to score.
Roope Hintz - W, DAL vs CHI (FD - $3,500, DK - $3,700)
Hintz is very, very cheap across the industry and is playing up on the top line for the Stars who are at home and up against the Blackhawks in a game where the over-under is set at seven. This is very high for the NHL and with the Blackhawks giving up the most high-danger scoring chances per game this season and eighth worst in Corsi Against, this sets up to have plenty of offense. Hintz is on the first forward line, the first power-play unit, and should almost certainly beat salary based expectations tonight.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Torey Krug - D, BOS vs OTT (FD - $6,400, DK - $5,800)
The Bruins come in as MASSIVE -400 home favorites since they are so good and they are up against the Senators, who are the worst team in the league. Not to mention the fact the Bruins haven't lost in regulation since January 19th. Yes, nearly two full months of not losing in regulation, a streak which won't be stopped tonight against Ottawa. Krug doesn't have a point in his last three games but has still been able to post nine shots, and three blocked shots in that span. He producing fantasy points consistently and hasn't shown a ceiling game in a while, but with him on the first power-play unit, that is set to change tonight.
Justin Schultz - D, PIT (FD - $4,500, DK - $4,800)
Schultz is still up on the first power-play unit for the Penguins, who have won six of their last 10 games and have jumped firmly back into the playoff picture. Another game against the Blue Jackets has the over-under coming in at 6.5, which is a spot we want to be attacking. He has three points in his last four games, five shots in that span, and gets you cheap exposure to the first power-play unit with Crosby and Malkin.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Andrei Vasilevskiy - G, TB vs DET (FD - $9,700, DK - $8,400)
With the Lightning losing on Thursday night, there is ZERO chance they lose at home tonight against the Red Wings which has them coming in as -445 favorites. Vasilevskiy is the most expensive goalie on both sites tonight and you are truly paying up for the safety in getting the win. He has allowed two or fewer goals in nine of his last 12 starts and we should be seeing much of the same against the Red Wings, who are only scoring 2.46 goals per game over the past month.
