FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/2/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

This is a rather large six game slate for a NBA Tuesday. The Blazers, Pistons, and Grizzlies are on the tail end of back-to-back sets, so watch for sitting stars. However, we should still have Andre Drummond back for the Pistons. That's okay. We still have plenty of other injuries to keep track of and plenty of teams running value players big minutes. For the record, I'm fading the entire Pistons game. They got COVIDed last night five minutes before tipoff.

It's also nice to not have to deal with the internal debate on whether or not to play Aaron Gordon. Gordon is going to be laid up for a while. That also opens up some big value for Orlando. Who can take advantage of the newfound minutes? We'll cover that as well. This is a much easier slate to build on than the two or three gamers we've been fed on Tuesdays since my start here at Rotoballer. Let's get to it!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/2/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard, forward, and center on FanDuel, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Bradley Beal, SG – vs. Portland ($10,800)

It's tough to pay this much for Beal, but the Trailblazers are without C.J. McCollum and on the second game of a back-to-back set. Russell Westbrook is still a good option here too, but if I can only use one, it's going to be Beal. Dame will have his hands full with Westbrook. That leaves Gary Trent, Rodney Hood, and Anfernee Simons to try and guard Beal. Good luck with that!

Paul George, SG – at Brooklyn ($8,400)

It's not often that I land on Paul George when the Clippers are at or close to full strength as they are tonight. However, it's not every day that George gets the gift of James Harden "defense." The Nets are the worst defensive team in the league since the Harden deal. That's not an accident. Of course, the Nets have only been at full strength twice in the eight games since, but this is still a disturbing trend. It's also a trend worth exploiting. The Clippers don't have a good center to go after the middle with, so I'm going to attack the next weakest link, which is James Harden.

Jeremy Lamb, SG – vs. Memphis ($5,300)

Lamb has been the primary benefactor of the Victor Oladipo trade, well besides Caris Levert's life maybe being saved. But as far as NBA games  are concerned, it's Lamb. Dougie McBuckets wasn't setting the world afire as part of the starting lineup. Lamb hasn't either, but he has at least 30 FanDuel points in three of the last four games. Dougie wasn't doing that. Memphis could be a little tired after running the Spurs into the court last night. Lamb doesn't have a huge ceiling, but there isn't anyone else at this price that does if we are leaving out the Utah/Detroit game.

Also consider: Damian Lillard ($10,200), Ja Morant ($7,800), Reggie Jackson ($5,500)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jaylen Brown, SF – at Golden State ($8,700)

This is a nice matchup for the entire Celtics team, but it could be more so for Brown. With Marcus Smart out and Kemba Walker still getting back up to speed, a lot of extra duties are going to fall on Brown who will likely man the two most of the game. Brown may score up with the elite names on this slate and he comes at about a 20% discount. We need that if you're going to run a stars and scrubs lineup. You can run Brown as a star at a lower price.

Xavier Tillman, PF – at Indiana ($5,400)

Brandon Clarke has been on a similar tear of late, but why pay the extra $1,000? Tillman has been the more consistent of the two. However, I have no issues running both at the Pacers tonight. While Myles Turner is elite when it comes to blocks, he doesn't do much else defensively. Domantas Sabonis is more an offensive player than a defensive one. The Memphis front is still dealing with injuries and Tillman has carved out a very nice role for himself.

Khem Birch, PF – vs. Tamparonto ($4,500)

The ownership on Birch is going to be about as high as LaMelo Ball's crazy number last night. The difference is that Birch will absolutely be worth the price. Birch has played well anyway filling in mostly for Jonathan Isaac. Now with Aaron Gordon down for an extended period of time, Birch is going to see 30 minutes a game or more. Birch was one of the best-kept secrets on FanDuel anyway. He's not a secret anymore, but this is the last time his price will be this low for at least a month. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Also consider: Jayson Tatum ($9,500), Pascal Siakam ($8,300), Brandon Clarke ($6,400)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Nikola Vucevic – vs. Tamparonto ($8,800)

Look, I'm a big fan of Rudy Gobert if that game plays, but at this point, we have to assume it wont. Vucevic is a hell of a consolation prize with Gordon out. For as good as Birch has looked, he's still not the kind of player that can carry this team offensively. Vucevic can. With Gordon out of the way, look for Vucevic's numbers to go up across the board, especially in scoring. That isn't as important on FanDuel, but I'm not going to complain for this price.

Enes Kanter – at Washington ($7,000)

I really don't like the price on Kanter, but the Wizards have been eaten alive inside since Thomas Bryant went down. The Blazers are struggling without C.J. and Jusuf Nurkic, but Washington has been even worse on the interior. The good part for us DFS players is that the Washington guards will keep this game close. They will also miss a ton of shots. Kanter is a lock for double-digit rebounds and he shouldn't have a problem scoring either. Come on, who's going to guard him? Mo Wagner? This could be a huge game for Kanter.

Gorgui Dieng – at Indiana ($5,300)

I've been a Dieng fan since he was with Minnesota. Now he's finally getting a chance to prove what he can do. Jonas Valanciunas is out with COVID. Dieng has responded with 67.2 FanDuel points in two starts in place of Jonas. Dieng has always been a per-minute warrior much like Jarrett Allen. We all saw what Allen did with those minutes last night. Dieng isn't going to crush value like Allen did, but 7x value is on the table. Dieng is exactly what you want in GPP formats.

Also consider: Myles Turner ($7,400), Ivica Zubac ($4,800), Aron Baynes ($4,600)
