FanDuel MVP Spot - Super Bowl DFS Picks
Brandin Cooks - WR, LAR vs NE (FD - $11,500)
Cooks should be a bit of a different option when it comes to the MVP spot for this game since you are giving up some amount of equity fading the quarterbacks and running backs. With that said, he has massive big play potential, which leads to extra points with his 1.5x multiplier.
Throughout the regular season, Cooks had an aDOT (average depth of target) of 13.31, which was the highest on the Rams of their main receivers. If he is going to be targeted downfield, we want to have him with the extra upside to capture all possible points. This is also a revenge game for him, so if you want to buy into that and see him stick it to his former team, then load him up on this slate.
FanDuel Flex - Super Bowl DFS Picks
Julian Edelman - WR, NE @ LAR (FD - $14,000)
Edelman should be one of the most popular players on the slate and it's for good reason since he has shown amazing consistency in the playoffs during their decade long run. He brings plenty of PPR value, which you won't get in full on FanDuel since its only half point per reception. He has double-digit targets in five of his last six games and is up against the Rams who had ninth DVOA versus the pass.
Gerald Everett - TE, LAR vs NE (FD - $6,000)
We are going to need some salary savers on this slate if you are looking to jam in the higher priced studs and Everett is a solid option for that. He has two or more targets in each of the two playoff games this season, which may not seem like a lot, but he is one of the cheapest "starters" you will be able to find in this game. If he happens to find the endzone, he will crush value based on a point per dollar spent.
Stephen Gostkowski - K, NE @ LAR (FD - $9,500)
You may hate kickers in season-long leagues, but kickers in single game DFS modes can be very helpful. First off, he isn't too expensive and we know he will produce a reliable floor of points since we expect the Patriots to reach their implied team total which is set at 30 points. Next, we should also be talking about lower ownership for him since ultimately he has a low ceiling. We won't ever see him have 20 fantasy points, but we should see him with at least eight or so, as he has hit that number in three straight games.
