Hitter Streamers for 7/22 - Shallow Leagues
Kike Hernandez (2B/SS/OF, BOS) - 38% rostered
Matchup: @ LHP Jordan Montgomery
Kike gets the added luxury of batting leadoff whenever the BoSox draws a matchup against a southpaw. Additionally, the ball club has a 120 wRC+ And .350 wOBA, which are well above league average. So, if you're looking for runs, Kike has that nice little bonus. Furthermore, there has been more power behind his swing lately, as shown by the .220 ISO over the previous 80 games.
Jed Lowrie (2B, OAK) - 32% rostered
Matchup: @ RHP Chris Flexen
We know a couple of things about Jed Lowrie, and one of those is he is a bit of a compiler. Also, he is a rather streaky hitter, and when he is hot, you have to play him. Right now, he is white-hot! Over the last two weeks, Lowrie is 12-for-33 with three dingers. Lastly, while Lowrie is a switch-hitter, he carries a .190 ISO and .350 wOBA vs. RHP in his last 180 ABs.
Patrick Wisdom (1B/3B, CHC) - 24% rostered
Matchup: @ LHP Kwang Hyun Kim
Completely out of nowhere, Wisdom has bolstered a struggling Cubs offense. While most did not expect him to stick around after Anthony Rizzo returned from the IL, his power at the dish has kept him relevant. It's impossible to overlook his .310 ISO vs. LHP since being called up. Will it stick? Likely no, but he is worth the roster spot for someone streaming the hot corners until he stops.
Hunter Renfroe (OF, BOS) - 45% rostered
Matchup: vs. LHP Jordan Montgomery
Renfroe is a massive power bat that gets plenty of ABs whenever a southpaw is on the mound. The power is shown by his .270 ISO and .521 SLG% against LHP over the last two seasons. If you're searching for someone to help build your RBI and HR total, Renfroe would be one of the top streamers of the day!
Hitter Streamers for 7/22 - Deeper Leagues
Bobby Dalbec (1B, BOS) - 13% rostered
Matchup: vs. LHP Jordan Montgomery
Much like his battering mate Renfroe, Dalbec is a lefty-masher. Against RHP, Dalbec whiffs away too much and sit regularly. However, against southpaws, he is a dynamic power bat. Over his 86 ABs vs. LHP, Dalbec crushes to the tune of a .260 ISO and .330 wOBA. Additionally, in that timeframe, he is a clutch bat that drove in 36 RBI. He won't walk, so OBP leagues he suffers, but the HR upside will make you forget that.
Darin Ruf (1B/OF, SFG) - 3% rostered
Matchup: @ RHP Walker Buehler
First, the matchup stinks, but he is squaring off against Walker Buehler. But, we are looking at deeper league threats with some upside. Ruf has been pretty solid against RHP for the Giants. On the season, he carries a sneaky good .210 ISO and 11:28 BB/K rate. If he can get a hold of one, the outcomes have been favorable for Ruf.
Guillermo Heredia (OF, ATL) - 2% rostered
Matchup: vs. LHP Matt Moore
The loss of Acuna stings for all of us, but if you're searching for a replacement in the potent Atlanta offense, look towards Heredia. He is another sneaky player that could have a productive day. The likelihood of power over the fence is tough, but the .350 wOBA against LHP could pay off.
Pitcher Streamers for 7/22 - Shallow Leagues
Adbert Alzolay (SP, CHC) - 27% rostered
Matchup: vs. STL Kwang Hyun Kim
The streaming SP pick of the day is Alzolay, and for several reasons. First, the Cardinals have been a fairly middling offense. Over the last two weeks, the team has been zapped with power, as shown by the .139 ISO. Now, they don't strike out very much(20.1%); the 97 wRC+ and .310 wOBA make them a good target. Additionally, Alzolay touts a 31% CSW and WHIP under 1.20. So, if he can keep the basepaths clean and pile up the Ks, it might be a fair chance to scoop up the win.
