Fantasy College Basketball CBB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (3/1/16)

We've heard about March Madness, of course, but February Fantasies?

How else to explain the tumult in our poll every week, which sees darlings turn to deadbeats almost daily?

Okay, so we like change, in addition to alliteration. It keeps things interesting.

Below are our CBB rankings for the week of March 1, 2016 (won-loss records are as of the time of this writing).

NCAA College Basketball (CBB) Rankings

1. Kansas, 25-4

Some things never change. Bill Self's team always seems to come out on top of the Big 12, and they have done so again, clinching the regular-season title this week. It remains to be seen whether or not the Jayhawks have enough talent beyond Perry Ellis to win the Big Dance, but we'll stick with them for now.

2. North Carolina, 23-6

The Tar Heels are still tops in the ACC, despite a loss on the road at Virginia this week. The Cavs move up (see below), but we see no reason to drop Roy Williams' men just yet.

3. Virginia, 22-6

Senior guard Malcolm Brogdon (18.5 PPG) can score, so it comes as no surprise he dropped 26 on the Tar Heels this week to lead his team to the upset win. We like the Cavs to go far in the tourney, too: Only truly tough teams can emerge from the ACC.

4. Villanova, 25-4

Regular readers know we haven't been sold on the Wildcats all season. They seem like a "one-trick pony," although that pony--guard Josh Hart (15.1 PPG/7.3 RPG)--is a thoroughbred.

5. Xavier, 25-4

Yes, the Musketeers beat 'Nova, but then went out and lost to Seton Hall. Junior point guard Myles Davis (10.9 PPG/4 APG) is always in tune, but the Big East will have to prove itself (to us anyway) come tournament time.

6. Oklahoma, 22-6

How do you spell "Sooner?" In basketball terms, it's B-U-D-D-Y, as in Hield. Hield is a no-doubter in Daily Fantasy games (25.4 PPG), but his team lacks star power around him, as their loss to Texas this week proved.

7. Michigan State, 24-5

Tom Izzo's team, as usual, is getting hot at the right time.

8. Miami, 23-5

The Hurricanes' sports program gets a bad rap, but they have an Angel in their midst: point guard Angel Rodriguez (11.5 PPG/4.4 APG).

9. Oregon, 23-6

The Pac-12 may be losing its luster, but Arizona's loss (to Utah) is the Ducks' gain. Sophomore forward Dillon Brooks (17.2 PPG/5.7 RPG/3.1 APG) is a multi-tool player.

10. West Virginia, 22-7

We've jumped on and off the Mountaineers' bandwagon so much that they're calling us Evel Knievel in Morgantown. But guard Jaysean Paige (14.3 PPG) is hot and defense wins championships.
