Jeremy Maclin Back On The Rise, Spencer Ware Potential Fantasy Stud?

The Kansas City Chiefs have saved their season and look to have a great chance at a wild card playoff spot. After a disappointing 1-5 start to the season and losing star running back Jamaal Charles for the remainder of the year, Kansas City is now on a five-game winning streak. They control their own destiny in the wild card race with a 6-5 record and have a very favorable schedule coming up. Two players specifically stood out in the fantasy world on Sunday during the Chiefs' win over the Buffalo Bills.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin broke out of his funk with nine catches for 160 receiving yards and a touchdown. Maclin was on a terrible streak with three receptions or less in his prior four games. He may be the best buy-low target on the market right now if your league still allows trades. Kansas City is rolling and Maclin is definitely the most talented weapon in that offense. The Chiefs upcoming schedule is tremendous for Maclin and the Kansas City passing game. They will face the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns in the next four games. You can’t ask for better matchups in the fantasy playoffs. None of those teams are good at stopping the pass and most of them are downright atrocious. Maclin should benefit most from the situation. Alex Smith doesn’t have any other trustworthy receivers and Maclin will be counted on in must-win games in the playoff race.

Running back Spencer Ware stepped up in impressive fashion with 114 rushing yards and a touchdown on just nineteen carries against Buffalo. Ware was filling in for the injured Charcandrick West. Both men have been impressive but West is still dealing with a hamstring injury. Those are always tricky and he can easily miss more time or be ineffective to the point where Ware takes over the majority of snaps. Head coach Andy Reid gets a fair share of criticism but he has a great track record with creating new running back stars in the NFL. Ware and West have both shown the potential to become next product of Reid and each can give you fantasy value. Hang on to Ware regardless of what happens with West. Ware showed the promise to be a RB2 if he gets enough carries and could be huge in the fantasy playoffs.
