It's Wednesday, my favorite day of the week! We have games all day, as usual, and some nice matchups with some certified STUDS going tonight. I love these STUDS so much, I'm going to do something I've never done before-- we do not have just one STUD of the day, we have seven! As always, check weather and lineups before first pitch!
Seven Studs for your Daily Lineups on July 24, 2013:
P Matt Garza $8200 - Garza has been lights out away from Wrigley, so I'm going to treat this as a road game as far as his splits go. There is only one Yankee who can hurt him (Cano), as Garza has tremendous BvP stats versus anyone else the Yanks can throw out there today. I predict he goes eight strong with eight strikeouts and a win. Garza for 20 FP!
2B Ian Kinsler $3300 - It's sad to say, but it looks like Andy Petitte has finally hit the wall. He's been getting obliterated by right-handed hitting of late, and Kinsler should get the extra at bat to pay off his price.
3B Pablo Sandoval $2800 - I've been touting the Kung Fu Panda for three weeks now. In that time, his price has been rising and he seems to be really hitting his stride. He is 7 -for-10 with two homers versus Mike Leake, so let's keep riding the big boy to some big $$$!
SS Starlin Castro $2700 - Don't look now, but it looks like Castro is actually trying! Maybe he is trying to play his way out of Wrigley in a deadline deal? Whatever it is, he has six hits in his last three games, and is looking much stronger than he did earlier in the season.
OF Giancarlo Stanton $3700 - Stanton against a left-handed pitcher in Coors Field? Yeah, he will be in every single one of my lineups tonight.
OF Alfonso Soriano $4100 - Soriano has basically the same deal as Castro-- he's really turned it on in the last month. And the icing on the cake here is that Soriano totally owns Ian Kennedy with three long balls in 13 at bats.
OF Jay Bruce $4000 - We all know by now that Jay Bruce is among the streakiest hitters in the game. One day he looks like he couldn't hit the ball with a 10-foot pole, and the next day he will hit it so far that you wonder if he actually did hit it with a 10-foot pole. He has averaged over seven FP per game in this series versus the giants, and I'm not scared of Chad Gaudin (yet).
