OwnersBox Quarterbacks
Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers) @BUF
Herbert has been better than anyone expected in his rookie season and should keep rolling in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks and this game, pitting two struggling defenses against one another, has shootout written all over it.
Also consider: Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. KC
Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. BAL, vs. WAS, @BUF, @CIN
Roethlisberger continues to benefit from an excellent stretch of matchups. His Thanksgiving matchup against Baltimore isn't great but the Ravens have only been average against the pass this season. Big Ben only threw for 182 yards against them in Week 8 but he did manage two touchdowns. Week 13 brings a home matchup against Washington. Washington has been solid against the pass but this is not a shy away matchup for the Steelers by any means.
The Steelers will take on the Bills on the road in Week 14. As mentioned above with Justin Herbert, you want to start quarterbacks against the Bills this season. Pittsburgh will then finish up this stretch with a road matchup against the Bengals in Week 15. Cincinnati's pass defense has struggled this year, allowing the 12th-most fantasy points per game to QBs. Roethlisberger shredded Cincy with four passing touchdowns back in Week 10.
Also consider: Deshaun Watson (Houston Texans) @DET, vs. IND, @CHI, @IND
OwnersBox Running Backs
Nick Chubb (Cleveland Browns) @JAX
Chubb has looked excellent in his two games back from a knee injury, ripping off two 50+ yard runs and coming close to have three touchdowns instead of just one. He draws a fantastic Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville's run defense is allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing runners. Look for Chubb to get plenty of work as the Jaguars offense is not likely to keep this game close on the scoreboard.
Also consider: Kenyan Drake (Arizona Cardinals) @NE
Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans) @IND, vs. CLE, @JAX, vs. DET
Ah yes, the annual tradition of Henry starting to wreck opposing defenses in the second half of the season. His 29-yard touchdown run in overtime knocked off the Ravens in Week 11. Henry will take on the Colts in Week 12 after he was able to top 100 rushing yards back in Week 10 when these two teams met. Week 13 will be a home game against a Cleveland defense that has played well against the run in recent weeks, although some of that can be attributed to poor weather conditions in Cleveland over the past three games which have hampered point-scoring for offenses.
In Week 14, Henry will take on the Jaguars on the road. As mentioned above in the Nick Chubb section, the Jaguars are a defense to target with running backs in fantasy. Henry finishes up his prime stretch with a dream matchup against the Detroit Lions. Detroit's run defense is allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this year.
Also consider: D'Andre Swift (Detroit Lions) vs. HOU, @CHI, vs. GB, @TEN
OwnersBox Wide Receivers
Davante Adams (Green Bay Packers) vs. CHI
Last week, Adams overcame a tough matchup against the Colts to post seven catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. He draws another difficult matchup in Week 12 against the Bears but that shouldn't concern fantasy gamers much. Adams has two touchdowns and has reached at least 88 receiving yards in three of his past four matchups against the Bears.
Also consider: Michael Thomas (New Orleans Saints) @DEN
Terry McLaurin (Washington Football Team) @DAL, @PIT, @SF, vs. SEA
McLaurin continues to play well, even with Washington on their third quarterback of the year in Alex Smith. In Week 12, McLaurin will get a rematch against a Dallas team that he posted seven catches for 90 yards and a score against back in Week 7. Week 13 brings a road matchup against a Pittsburgh secondary that has been tough against the run but is allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to the WR position.
Washington then travels to San Francisco in Week 14 to take on the 49ers. As with Pittsburgh, the 49ers are much tougher against the run than they are against the pass, which should force extra work onto McLaurin's plate in the passing game. McLaurin wraps up this slate of games with a cake matchup against a Seattle secondary that has been extremely generous to wide receivers this season. The Seahawks are allowing the most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position this season.
Also consider: Darius Slayton (New York Giants) @CIN, @SEA, vs. ARI, vs. CLE
OwnersBox Tight Ends
Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs) @TB
Kelce continues to be the No. 1 target in Kansas City as he three straight games with at least 100 receiving yards. The veteran tight end draws a decent matchup against Tampa Bay in Week 12. The Tampa Bay defense is weakest against the tight end position, according to fantasy points allowed, so look for Kelce to be a focal point again this week.
Also consider: Hunter Henry (Las Angeles Chargers) @BUF
Darren Waller (Las Vegas Raiders) @ATL, @NYJ, vs. IND, vs. LAC
As mentioned above with Travis Kelce, Waller has emerged as the primary target in the Las Vegas passing attack, not first-round rookie Henry Ruggs. The Falcons in Week 12 is THE matchup for tight ends as Atlanta is allowing the most fantasy points per game to tight ends in the league. Waller is set up to smash in that matchup. He then follows that up with another promising matchup against the Jets. New York is 10th in average fantasy points allowed to the position this season.
The Raiders will then take on the Colts, who are allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends. This is not a promising matchup, although Robert Tonyan and Jace Sternberger combined to catch eight balls for 67 yards and a touchdown against them last week. Waller will then take on the Chargers at home in Week 15. Los Angeles held him to 22 receiving yards back in Week 9 but Waller did manage to find the end zone. Overall, the Chargers are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends on the year.
