2 years agoDallas Mavericks guard A.J. Lawson tied Jaden Hardy for a game-high 28 points during the Summer League loss to Chicago. The 21-year-old has been scratching and clawing for a spot on any roster after going undrafted in 2021. He made a good case for himself on Friday night, though, going 10-for-16 from the field and 6-for-11 from deep while adding five boards. Nonetheless, after Jalen Brunson signed with the Knicks this offseason, there are some minutes to be had in Dallas. If Lawson can continue putting up numbers like this throughout the rest of his time in Las Vegas, he may find a consistent spot at the professional level soon enough.
