Aaron Wise A Sneaky Good Option At The Open
2 years agoAaron Wise continues to have a nice 2022 PGA Tour season, and currently sits just outside the Tour Championship threshold. A big reason for his top-35 ranking has been his play in major championships. Wise has finished inside the top-27 in both of the majors he's played in, as well as four top-10 finishes in the other events he's played. Although never played at St. Andrews, Wise has the game to sneak up on people this week. Wise sits 21st on tour in strokes gained tee to green, as he averages over 305 yards off the tee. Wise should be strong off the tee this week, but it will come down to his stroke with the flatstick. Wise is outside the top-100 in strokes gained putting this season but has gained strokes on the greens in three of his last four starts. Although a top-30 finish isn't guaranteed for Wise this week, his DFS price is incredibly cheap. It's a boom-or-bust play with Wise, but the upside outweighs the risk at St. Andrews.
