Abraham Ancer A Good Course Fit At The Open Championship
2 years agoAbraham Ancer possesses the ideal skill set to succeed at The Open Championship. He is one of the most accurate players off the tee and has gained strokes in that metric in seven of his last eight events on the PGA Tour. He moved over to the LIV Tour in late June and teed it up at the Portland event, finishing 11th with a three-round score of one-under par. Although Ancer's skill set matches the skills required to play The Open, he has not experienced success at the event. He has played The Open Championship three times, making the cut just once. He also did not play last week at the Scottish Open, so we have not seen him play on a links course in a competitive round in over a year. He is fairly priced in DFS and won't attract much ownership given the players priced around him. Ancer seems like a great fit for links golf, but his lack of success at The Open is worrisome.
