Abraham Ancer A Nice Fit At The American Express
3 years agoAbraham Ancer has excellent course history at La Quinta. His strong performance is highlighted by his fifth-place finish last year. In 2021, Ancer gained 4.3 strokes from tee-to-green and 3.6 strokes on approach. What is very surprising is how poorly he putted that week. Despite finishing fifth, Ancer lost strokes on the green that week. It makes sense that Ancer plays well here. The stadium course is a Pete Dye design, and Ancer is second in the field from tee-to-green on Pete Dye courses. However, Ancer is not coming into this event in great form. He missed the cut last week at The Sony Open and finished near last at The Sentry Tournament of Champions. His recent form may bring his ownership numbers down and could make him a great DFS play this week.
