Adalberto Mondesi Has Setback in Rehab
3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) has come back to see the club's medical staff after experiencing tightness in his oblique during his minor-league rehab assignment, the Kansas City Star reported, citing manager Mike Matheny. Mondesi, who had struggled at the plate in his most recent rehab assignment, has played in just 10 games for the Royals this year. Nicky Lopez will continue to be the team's primary shortstop for now. Top prospect Bobby Witt Jr., who was recently promoted to Triple-A Omaha, could get a late-season call-up. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues should consider moving on from Mondesi, though in keeper formats his speed is too much of a plus.
