Adam Frazier Optioned, Jacob Stallings Called Up
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman/outfielder Adam Frazier has been optioned to Triple-A. Catcher Jacob Stallings has been added to the major league roster, as cover for Francisco Cervelli, whose status is uncertain. Frazier has been hitting just .237 with three home runs in 152 plate appearances, making it tough to hold onto him in any mixed league formats. Stallings has hit .294 with one home run and one stolen base in 167 plate appearances at Triple-A. Stallings has hit extremely well in two short stints in the major leagues, registering a .379 batting average in 31 plate appearances. Stallings appears to be a decent hitter, but uncertainty over playing time makes it tough to add him in anything outside of NL-only formats.
