Adam Thielen Is A Solid WR2 In Week 5
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen profiles as a solid WR2 option in Week 5. The Vikings star receiver was critical of the offense (rightly so) after a frustrating Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears where he caught 2-of-6 targets for just six yards. Despite Thielen's comments and the team's recent drama, he is looking at a golden opportunity to bounce back and post useful WR2 numbers in Week 5. The New York Giants rank near the bottom of the league in pass rush and pass coverage and Thielen's individual matchup with slot cornerback Grant Haley is especially advantageous (Haley has allowed 80% of his passes to be completed). If the game stays close, as Vegas thinks it will, the Vikings will need to throw and Thielen will have a great chance to have a productive outing. Consider Thielen a mid-tier WR2 with upside in Week 5, though his floor is somewhat low with the Vikings remaining a very run-heavy offense. He's also a very sneaky tournament play in daily formats at potentially minuscule ownership.
