Adam Thielen Plays Complementary Role
6 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen had a solid day, snagging 5-of-6 targets for 80 yards in the Week 16 win over the Detroit Lions. Thielen benefited from shutdown-cornerback Darius Slay shadowing Stefon Diggs all afternoon, but it was tight end Kyle Rudolph who got the majority of the targets and receiving work in the must-win game for the Vikings. Though he has been held under 100 receiving yards in five of his last six contests, he is still averaging a ridiculous 94 receiving yards per game in 2018. Thielen faces off against the Chicago Bears in Week 17, and he should be viewed as an upper-tier WR2 in that crucial matchup.
