Adbert Alzolay Goes Two Innings In Saturday's Rehab Start
2 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay (lat) went two innings in his minor league rehab start for Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, and he allowed one run on one hit while walking two and striking out six. Alzolay has been out all year due to a right shoulder lat, but he appears to be getting closer to making his 2022 debut for the Cubbies. The 27-year-old went 5-13 last year with a 4.58 ERA (4.65 FIP), a 1.16 WHIP and a 128:34 K:BB in 125 2/3 innings over 29 appearances (21 starts) in Chicago. Alzolay won't return to the big leagues until at least September, and he's unlikely to have much fantasy appeal if the Cubs insert him into their rotation.
