7 years agoTexas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre played the field for two days running for the first time since his return from the disabled list. Playing in a National League park, the Rangers did not have the designated hitter spot available. Therefore, if they wanted Beltre in the lineup both days, he had to play the field. With days off on both Monday and Thursday, the Rangers were able to use the Dodgers series as a test of Beltre's health. Beltre rewarded their bravery with five hits in eight plate appearances. This is a great sign for Beltre's fantasy owners, as he appears to now be to a point where he will be something close to an everyday player.--Ben Rolfe
