Andrew Wiggins Comes Up One Rebound Short Of Double-Double
6 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves small forward Andrew Wiggins nearly posted his second double-double of the season as he compiled 17 points, nine rebounds, and two assists in Tuesday's victory over the Suns. The 23-year-old was 7-for-18 from the field, 1-for-5 from beyond the arc, and 2-for-4 from the charity stripe. He has not recorded a steal or block in three straight games, which ties his second longest stretch of the season of failing to do so. The nine rebounds were his second most this year. Wiggins, who is averaging 6.4 caroms over the last five contests, will look to top the 20-point mark for the first time in seven games against the Lakers on Thursday. The fifth-year pro has excelled against the Lakers this season, compiling 23.5 points along with 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, one block and 1.5 steals along with three three-pointers over two games against the Lakers this season.
