Andrew Wiggins Has Another Poor Shooting Outing
6 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves small forward Andrew Wiggins pumped in 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds, doled out three assists and came up with two steals in Thursday's victory over the Lakers. The 23-year-old was 9-for-23 from the field, 1-for-4 from beyond the arc, and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. He continues to be an inefficient scorer as the fifth-year pro, who is averaging a career-low 1.09 points per shot for the season, has failed to produce more than one point per shot attempt in each of the last six outings. The Kansas product is averaging a season-best 20.4 points this month despite shooting the ball so poorly in January where he is making only 40.4 percent of his shots from the field and 32.0 percent of his three-point attempts. Wiggins has a good matchup against the Jazz on Friday, where he filled the stat sheet in the teams first meeting of the year with 19 points along with six rebounds, one assist, three trifectas, one steal, and two blocks.
