Anfernee Simons Will Miss At Least 1-2 Weeks Due To Injury
3 years agoPortland Trail Blazers point guard Anfernee Simons (knee) has been shut down for the time being, with the team set to re-evaluate the 22-year-old in the next one to two weeks. Simons is battling mild patellar tendinopathy in his left knee, an ailment which could keep him out for the remainder of the season. Already down Damian Lillard (abdominal), the Blazers backcourt options have dwindled quickly. Brandon Williams is on track to continue seeing a massive role Saturday vs. Washington, while Josh Hart, CJ Elleby and Ben McLemore can all be expected to continue seeing sizable workloads without Simons in the mix. In the midst of a breakout campaign where he has averaged 17.3 points per game, Simons will miss at least the next four games as Portland determines its next steps.
