Anthony Davis Takes A Backseat In Lakers Win
5 years agoLos Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis played second fiddle to LeBron James in his team's 95-86 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday night. After taking 21 shots in a loss to the Clippers on Wednesday, Davis settled for 17 against the Jazz. He was still filling up the entire stat sheet with 21 points, seven rebounds, five blocks, two assists, and two steals, so fantasy owners should not be complaining at all. This will probably be the nature of the beast when it comes to the Lakers this season, though. Davis will dominate one game, and then LeBron James will dominate the next game. For the first time in his eight NBA seasons, Davis is not the number one offensive option, and it is yet to be determined how that affects his fantasy numbers. He will enjoy a favorable matchup against the Charlotte Hornets to close out week one, and it shouldn't surprise anyone if he collects his first double-double of the 2019-20 NBA season in that contest.
