6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx will get the start for the Rangers on Wednesday. The opportunity for Bibens-Dirkx arises after Yohander Mendez was optioned to Triple-A for violating team rules. This will be the right-handed pitcher's third start of the season. So far he has been unsuccessful with a 6.55 ERA and 17 hits to 11 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched. Bibens-Dirkx has flashed some strikeout upside this season and he gets to face the Royals, who have struggled at times.
