Baker Mayfield Will Remain Browns Starting Quarterback

3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was benched late in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mayfield had a rough game, completing 10 of 18 passes for 119 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, before being replaced by Case Keenum. The Browns were trailing 31-7 at the time Mayfield was benched. After the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Mayfield is the team's starter going forward. Stefanski made the decision to bench Mayfield in order to protect Mayfield from further injuring his ribs. Mayfield was dealing with a rib injury prior to the game and received multiple hard hits in the game.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
