Ben Simmons Packs Stat Sheet With Strong 22-Point Night
6 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers point guard/small forward Ben Simmons finished Wednesday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets with 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks, giving his game an all-around flavor. He had been held below 20 points in each of his last seven contests, one of which included Brooklyn. After a 2-for-9 performance from the free-throw line Monday, Simmons bounced back to go 4-for-5 on Wednesday, bringing his average on the season up to 58.7 percent, one of the few areas the stud sophomore lacks production in. He took on an increased scoring role Wednesday with Jimmy Butler sidelined due to injury, so it’s worth checking in ahead of tip Friday to see if Simmons could be shouldering the load again.
