6 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons showed off his passing ability in Friday's preseason game against Melbourne United, finishing with 14 assists -- including one where he threw the ball to himself off the backboard before dishing it to Markelle Fultz for a layup. Simmons finished with eight points on 4-for-9 shooting, looking a little rusty at times, and grabbed eight rebounds. With Fultz getting run with the first unit, Simmons made sure the second-year guard got involved in the offense; worries that playing time for Fultz would hurt Simmons's ability to be a playmaker for this offense were assuaged.
