7 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard/forward Ben Simmons heads into the second half of the season as a favorite to take home the league's Rookie of the Year award. Simmons is averaging 16.4 points per game this season, second amongst rookies behind Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell. He is also averaging 7.3 assists and nearly two steals per contest, which puts him ahead of all first-year men so far this year. With guard Markelle Fultz out of the picture for the time being, Simmons has been running things from the point this season with forward Dario Saric sliding in at the four spot. He still has to work on some things, notably in the turnover and free throw shooting department, but he should continue to see plenty of productive minutes in the months ahead.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
