4 years agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette is on something mirroring a comeback trail as the swelling in his injured knee has gone down, leading general manager Ross Atkins to say that he was “extremely optimistic” about Bichette getting back on the field in 2020. Just days ago, it appeared that the season might be over for Bichette, who has opened the year scorching hot at the dish with a .361/.391/.672 slash line in addition to a 184 OPS+. Still, his absence figures to last at least a few more weeks, as he still needs to be re-evaluated. Joe Panik and Brandon Drury figure to remain the team’s primary replacements.--Jesse Borek
