Bo Bichette Having Normal Offseason
3 years agoDespite Major League Baseball's lockout since early December, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette said his ramp-up before spring training has been largely unchanged. Bichette has been getting swings in a batting cage and at a local high school field with teammates Danny Jansen, Teoscar Hernandez and Santiago Espinal. He has also worked closely with his father and former big-leaguer, Dante Bichette, after he resigned from his role as Blue Jays special assistant during the lockout. The 23-year-old really impressed in his first full season in the majors in 2021, hitting .298 with 29 home runs, 102 RBI, 121 runs and 25 stolen bases in 159 games. Bichette loses some luster in leagues that count on-base percentage due to a low walk rate, but his incredible 2021 campaign has made him a mid-first-round pick in fantasy drafts.
