Bo Bichette Out With Sore Shoulder
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (shoulder) collided with outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in left field on Thursday night, and his left shoulder is sore. He's considered day-to-day and is out of the starting lineup on Friday against the Detroit Tigers. Interim manager John Schneider said Bichette is available off the bench, so the injury obviously isn't very serious. With the 24-year-old getting a day off, Santiago Espinal will move to shortstop and hit eighth in the lineup against Tigers right-hander Bryan Garcia, with Cavan Biggio starting at second and leading off. Espinal was a first-time All-Star this year and is hitting .270 with six home runs, 40 RBI, 39 runs scored and five stolen bases in 96 games, but he won't have a ton of upside near the bottom of Toronto's lineup.
