Bobby Portis Pulls Down 16 Boards
7 years agoChicago Bulls forward/center Bobby Portis played well against the Heat on Thursday. Portis played 32 minutes and scored 13 points on an inefficient 6-for-16 shooting from the field and 0-for-3 from deep, but made up for his shoddy shooting by pulling down 16 boards in addition to recording two steals and a block. He took advantage of the absence of forward Lauri Markkanen (rest) and the premature exit of center Robin Lopez (ejection) by playing his highest minutes total since March 17th. He has played relatively well as of late, averaging 13 points and 8.4 boards over the past five outings and will gain more appeal if either Lopez or Markkanen doesn't suit up on Friday night against the equally unimpressive Orlando Magic.
