Bobby Portis To Sign With Knicks
5 years agoAfter striking out on all the league’s marquee free agents, the New York Knicks have agreed to a deal with power forward Bobby Portis. The Knicks have signed a lot of fours in the early days of free agency so exactly how Portis fits on this roster is still up for debate, but Portis is a young player who averaged 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 50 contests last year for the Bulls and Wizards. In Washington, he shot 40.3 percent from deep and he’ll likely come off the bench as a stretch four option for the Knicks this season. If he can stay near the 26 minutes per game he averaged last year, Portis can remain an intriguing, high-floor fantasy option, though with the Knicks also signing Julius Randle and Taj Gibson, it remains to be seen what, exactly, Portis will be asked to do.
