Bobby Witt Jr. Working Out Thursday
2 years agoKansas City Royals rookie shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (hand) is taking grounders and swings on Thursday to determine his availability moving forward. Manager Mike Matheny said the scans on Witt's hand on Wednesday all came back clear, so he's currently considered day-to-day after being hit by a pitch on the right hand on Tuesday. The 22-year-old is missing his second straight game on Thursday against the Houston Astros, but there remains some hope that he can return to the lineup at some point this weekend. Nicky Lopez will continue to man the 6 for KC with Witt hurting. Witt has had his share of struggles in his first MLB season, but he remains an intriguing high-ceiling fantasy player because of his power and speed at a premium position.
