Brett Anderson Scratched With Illness
5 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday against the Padres due to flu-like symptoms. Shelby Miller was plugged in to take his spot. Missing one spring start likely won't impact Anderson's readiness for the start of the season. Anderson signed a one-year deal with the Brewers after posting a 3.89 ERA over 31 starts with the A's last season. He should slot in somewhere in the middle of Milwaukee's starting rotation. He has always relied on his sinkerball and pitches to contact. His ultra-low strikeout rate (12.1%) is not exciting or useable in most fantasy leagues. He's a potential streamer option if the matchup is right but should be avoided in most mixed league drafts.
