7 years agoLos Angeles Lakers center Brook Lopez will look to continue to improve on what has been an unimpressive tenure in Hollywood thus far. After being dealt from Brooklyn in the offseason, Lopez arrived and was trusted to be a leader of a youthful up-and-coming squad. After averaging at least 17 points as a Net in each season after his rookie campaign, Lopez’s production has taken a downward spiral, averaging only 11.8 points on the year. He is also averaging around eight minutes less and his field goal percentage of 43 percent is the worst of his career. However, after the team cleared out some players who were compromising the veteran’s minutes, Lopez has been playing his best basketball of the season as of late and appears to have solidified a significant role in the middle for the remainder of the season. He should continue to see more time on the court as well as increase his points per game total as the season progresses, and his ability to get hot from deep as well as block some shots along the way is an added bonus, especially to those in nine-category leagues. If he is still hanging around in your league’s free-agency pool, especially in those leagues with 14 teams and above, you may want to consider picking him up before it’s too late.
