5 years agoOn Thursday, the Atlanta Braves sent pitcher Bryse Wilson back to Triple-A Gwinnett and called up fellow pitcher Grant Dayton. While the move may seem surprising on the surface, following Wilson's strong outing against the Phillies on Wednesday, it certainly makes sense personnel-wise for the team's current situation. With Anthony Swarzak (shoulder) on the Injured List, the team needs another bullpen arm like Dayton. Additionally, with the All-Star break coming up, Wilson would have had a long gap between starts. Now, he can pitch on regular rest at Triple-A next week. It could certainly be seen as an encouraging sign that the Braves didn't want to move Wilson to the bullpen during this period, which is promising for Wilson's outlook as a potential member of the rotation the rest of the season.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
