6 years agoPortland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum went for 25 points during Thursday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, logging a season-high 45 minutes with the game reaching overtime. While teammate Damian Lillard went for a season-best 51 points on just 28 shots, McCollum scuffled to the tune of a 9-for-24 shooting performance. He knocked down three triples, but contributed little else by way of the stat line, failing to record an assist -- despite all that time on the floor -- for the first time since Nov. 18. He’ll likely have ample scoring opportunities Saturday versus the Phoenix Suns, who have had difficulty slowing down the competition this season.--Jesse Borek
