Cameron Davis Won't Do Too Bad At Sony Open
3 years agoCameron Davis is interesting for this week's Sony Open because his metrics say there is no way he should finish in the top 20 despite his decent 31st-place finish last year. He often drove the heck out of the ball to set up birdie chances last year. It is not a surprise he ranked 19th in driving distance (309 yards). Also, Davis ranked 22nd in birdies and second in eagle frequency (once every 84 holes). His driving accuracy and performance around the greens was a bigger problem and often showed up in tournaments on weekends. Davis missed at least three prime chances to finish higher. That may occur again this weekend, but Davis should do well enough.
