7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Carlos Gomez will sit out Thursday's game after aggravating his hamstring Wednesday. Gomez originally felt something when running out a triple but stayed in the game and managed to make a diving catch. However, Gomez does not expect to need a stint on the disabled list and is hopeful of playing Friday. Gomez only came off the DL on Sunday following a hamstring injury and has hit one home run and stolen a base since that return. Gomez is struggling in 2018 with a .194 batting average, but he does have six HRs and four steals. In deeper leagues, Gomez can provide power and speed, but he will be a drain on your average for the majority of the season.--Ben Rolfe
