Casey Mize Close To Throwing Program
2 years agoDetroit Tigers pitcher Casey Mize (elbow) hopes to begin a throwing program by next week. Since heading to Lakeland, the 25-year-old has been limited to plyo throws. He lasted two-thirds of an inning in his minor league rehab start for Triple-A Toledo two weeks ago. The Tigers right-hander has been out since suffering a right elbow sprain in the middle of April, and Detroit will have a better idea when he will return to the big leagues once Mize begins a throwing program. Mize owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and four strikeouts outs over 10 innings in 2022.
