3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize (elbow) lasted just two-thirds of an inning in his minor league rehab start for Triple-A Toledo on Thursday. The right-hander allowed three singles, a three-run home run and hit a batter while throwing 16 of his 29 pitches for strikes. It's not exactly what the Tigers or Mize's fantasy managers were hoping for in his first rehab outing, but his health still remains the bigger focus. The 25-year-old has been out since suffering a right elbow sprain in the middle of April, and he'll need at least a couple more rehab outings before Detroit feels comfortable inserting the youngster back into their starting rotation. Mize has big upside when healthy, and he has a 4.29 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 56 walks and 148 strikeouts in 39 career starts over his three MLB seasons so far.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
