3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers placed right-hander Casey Mize on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right elbow on Friday. Mize threw five innings in a win over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday and appeared no worse for the wear following the appearance. The Tigers have yet to indicate the severity of Mize's injury, but it is a red flag anytime a pitcher comes down with an elbow problem. The Tigers recalled outfielder Daz Cameron in a corresponding move. As far as replacements for Mize go, right-hander Michael Pineda is close to making his 2022 debut after a visa issue during spring training and lefty Tyler Alexander could remain part of the rotation instead of returning to the bullpen.--Matt T - RotoBaller
