3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize will make his first start out of the All-Star break next Sunday against the Twins, according to Jason Beck of MLB.com. Mize has had a solid rookie campaign in 2021, going 5-5 with a 3.59 ERA, 1.143 WHIP and 19.9 percent strikeout rate over 95 1/3 innings of work. His last two outings failed to go beyond four innings due to workload management from the team, but over five starts in June he averaged over six innings per outing. This matchup could be a decent one for Mize, as the Twins have not been hitting particularly well lately, slashing .240/.318/.395 over their last 10 games.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
