Celtics Select Aaron Nesmith With No. 14 Selection
4 years agoThe Boston Celtics grabbed small forward Aaron Nesmith with the 14th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Vanderbilt. The Celtics starting five seems firmly entrenched heading into the '20-21 year, so it's unlikely that Nesmith plays a significant role out of the gate, but his sharpshooting abilities should earn him playing time almost immediately. Prior to a foot injury having ended his sophomore year prematurely, Nesmith shot 50 percent from three-point range, averaging 3.2 made triples per contest. In addition to his scoring prowess (23 PPG in 2019-20), Nesmith added 1.4 steals on a nightly basis, showcasing his two-way abilities. Should Gordon Hayward move on from Boston, Nesmith would see an uptick in fantasy value, particularly in category leagues.
