Cesar Hernandez Rejoins Roster Wednesday, Not In Lineup
4 years agoCleveland Indians second baseman Cesar Hernandez was activated off of the paternity list prior to Wednesday’s contest versus the Cubs, but will not re-enter the starting lineup yet. Yu Chang will hold down the keystone against southpaw Jon Lester, with Hernandez presumably available off of the bench. Hernandez enters play Wednesday leading the American League with 16 doubles, providing a season-long asset at the keystone in medium-sized or larger leagues. His next chance to rejoin the starting nine comes Thursday against Detroit righty Casey Mize, allowing Hernandez to hit from his preferred side of the dish (.762 OPS vs. RHP, .586 vs. LHP).
