5 years agoCharles Howell III arrives at the 3M Open this week at TPC Twin Cities outside of Minneapolis looking to stay on track. For the first time since making 10 straight cuts from mid-November through the Masters, he has played into the weekend in back-to-back events. He fired out of the chute with a 12-under 132 to easily make the cut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic before falling back on Sunday to settle for a 35th-place finish. Still, it was his best finish in over two months since a 32nd-place showing at Augusta National. He ranks 43rd in Driving Distance, fifth in Greens In Regulation, 39th in Scoring Average, 41st in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green and a respectable 56th in Par 5 Scoring Average. As such, CH3 might be a solid performer in this inaugural event.--Daniel Dobish
