3 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles designated infielder Chris Owings for assignment on Wednesday. In a corresponding move, the team activated right-handed pitcher Austin Voth, who was claimed off waivers from the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Owings hasn't been able to get anything going at the plate this year. Over 26 games, he's slashed .107/.254/.143 with only two extra-base hits (both doubles). We'll see if another team is willing to take a shot on the 30-year-old veteran, who has a career .239 batting average to go along with 37 home runs over 710 games.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
