Christian Wood Dominates En Route To Double-Double In Debut
4 years agoHouston Rockets power forward/center Christian Wood received a massive payday in the offseason after a brief stretch of impressive play last year. If the opening game of the 2020-21 year is any indication, the Rockets have struck gold. Across 44 minutes in his first game with the team, Wood went for 31 points and 13 rebounds, shooting 14-for-22 overall and adding three assists. His minutes total was likely inflated by the absence of DeMarcus Cousins and others due to COVID-19 protocols, but Wood reaffirmed that when given a starting role, he can pack the stat sheet -- significantly. With the Rockets likely short-handed again Monday against Denver, Wood is a must-start in season-long formats, while a definite price tag rise is on the horizon in DFS as he remains the team's most reliable big man in multiple facets.
