5 years agoDetroit Pistons power forward/center Christian Wood was finally given a massive platform to shine by head coach Dwane Casey during Friday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Making just his second start of the season, Wood collected 27 points on 10-for-18 shooting overall, adding 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the year. With Andre Drummond no longer in the mix for the Pistons, Wood and his 35-minute workload will have carte blanche in the frontcourt moving forward. He set a new season high by dishing out five assists, while tying his season best by knocking down three triples. He is a definite must-roster player in every format entering Saturday’s contest against the Knicks.--Jesse Borek
